The Muse to Life

Here is a little introduction to the life of music

                                      What is music

Music is many things and effects us in different ways. It is a form of art, it connects us to other people and makes us feel more alive. It is a science, it demands the exact acoustics. It's maths as it has rhythms subdivided into fractions. It is a foreign language that uses symbols for ideas like Forte (F) stands for loud. It is history as it takes us back to its creation like classical music and the time of Mozart. It is physical education as it requires amazing co-ordination of fingers, hands, lips, cheek and facial muscles, back, stomach, chest muscles and breathing. They all respond to what the ear hears and how the musician feels the music.

Why Should we Listen to Music

Simply put it is a way of expressing your feelings in a more direct and powerful way than words alone. There are no cultural barriers and music touches all ages, It speaks to everyone. Like Hans Anderson says ''where words fail, music speaks''. In music composers communicate emotions using lots of different musical techniques for example Happiness can be shown by staccato notes, fast tempo and loudness. Sadness can be shown by slow and music in a minor key. Anger can be shown by fast, smooth and loud music. Fear can be shown by Slow, staccato and soft music. Excitement can be shown by fat and bouncy rhythms. Even babies respond to this.
